From the beginning of the ministry in 1951, God gave our founder, Bill Bright, a graphic picture of the gospel spreading throughout the earth. The passage from 2 Timothy 2:2 became like a North Star for him: “And the things you have heard from Me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” He boiled that down to a simple mandate: win people to Christ, build them in their faith, and send them out to reach others for Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Wether on a college campus, in an executive board room or on an inner-city street, we seek to build movements of spiritual multiplication, not just share the gospel. And God has given us a rallying cry that is simple, motivational, and measurable: Helping to build spiritual movements everywhere so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus.
