Our Story

Mike — Developing Leaders & Accelerating Church Movements

I serve with Global Church Movements, helping national ministry leaders grow in healthy leadership, build multiplying teams, and shape strategies that move the gospel into every neighborhood, village, and digital community.

God utilizes my background in systems and innovation to design practical tools—such as iShare, a digital mapping platform that helps teams visualize where churches currently exist and where new ones are still needed. Today, leaders around the world utilize it to coordinate outreach and share the gospel in previously unreached areas.

One of my greatest joys is seeing leaders pass on what they’ve learned to others. That’s when movements grow. That’s when the gospel multiplies.

Amy — Caring for the Heart of the Mission

I serve on The Jesus Film Project’s Spiritual Development Team, where my focus is helping more than a thousand staff stay spiritually healthy, prayerful, and connected to Jesus.

We create spaces for renewal—prayer gatherings, mentoring relationships, retreats, and environments where staff can breathe, rest, and reconnect with the Lord who called them.

I’ve learned that we cannot give what we do not have. Before we can help others experience Jesus, we must walk closely with Him ourselves. It’s an honor to care for the hearts of those carrying His message to the world.

Our path hasn’t always been predictable, but it’s been unmistakably guided by God.

Faith on Campus → Marriage → A Door Opens in Russia

As young Cru staff members, we met at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and got married in 1991. Just a year later, the Soviet Union collapsed—and God opened a historic door. We were invited to help train teachers in Russia as biblical values entered public life for the first time in decades.

We watched as educators wept, saying, “It may be too late for me… but the children need to hear this.”

Tech Before Tech Was a Thing — JESUS Goes Online (2000)

Years later, God led us into another unexpected frontier: bringing the “JESUS” film online before YouTube even existed. We had no idea what we were pioneering—we just wanted people everywhere to meet Jesus in their own language.

Creative Compassion & New Movements

Along the way, we developed compassion projects for children, supported anti-trafficking ministries, launched short film initiatives, and helped ministries across continents collaborate more effectively.

A Cross-Country Move, A Global Impact

In 2005, our family moved from California to Cru’s World Headquarters in Orlando. It was a leap of faith for us and our four daughters—but it positioned our ministry for global reach.

Two Roles, One Mission

We may serve in different parts of Cru, but our heartbeat is the same:
help people know Jesus and strengthen the leaders who help them grow.
