Ministry during Challenge

floodsBangladesh has many remote hilly areas where tribal people live, and most of them have never heard about Jesus. Almost all of them are illiterate and speak their own language. The country is now suffering from severe floods. Many of the areas where we are doing ministry have been affected by the floods. Many of the small house churches are suffering. Their houses, crops and cattle were destroyed.

FilmThe Jesus Film has been translated into their language. Our Church Planting Movement initiators of the same tribe are working there.

The country is also undergoing political changes and turmoil. This has brought more persecution and scrutiny of those doing ministry. The houses of some pastors have been searched to see what they use to preach the gospel. But through these problems, God has done many wonderful things.

One Pastor was called into the police because some local people complained that he had been forcefully converting people to Christianity. He was told to bring all the materials he was using, which included Gospel tracts and the Jesus film. The officials asked the pastor if he was converting people forcibly. The pastor told them he was preaching the Gospel so that the people may know the truth.

The officials checked the materials and watched the Jesus Film. Afterward, the police declared that the pastor was not doing anything harmful, even calling him innocent and righteous. The pastor was granted total freedom to carry on his ministry.
